Kia’s dissertation, A Review of Journalism in Iran: The Functions of the Press and Traditional Communication Channels in the Constitutional Revolution of Iran, 1995-96.
Under the auspices of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and its Transfer of Knowledge Through Expatriate Nationals (TOKTEN) project, taught a graduate-level course, International Journalism, at the Allameh TabaTaba’e University, summer 1994, Tehran.
